FAQ

Eight plain answers to the questions readers ask most about this guide.

Is this site making fun of old men?

No. It watches closely and with warmth. The patterns are real, the respect is too. Mockery needs distance. This guide works up close.

Does this only apply to men over 50?

The patterns are human. The framing here is specific because the generation and the roles are specific. Plenty applies elsewhere. We make no claims there.

He is 45 and fits every page. Now what?

Then read it for him. The age on the label is a center, not a border.

Is this medical or psychological advice?

No. These are communication tips. Where a page touches health, it says plainly: that is a doctor conversation.

Can I use this at work?

Yes. That is what the At Work lens is for: Men Over 50 at Work, workplace situations, and templates for handover and knowledge transfer.

What if he reads this site?

Good. Nothing here is written behind his back. The pages describe behavior with respect, name what drives it, and treat his side as legitimate. Some men recognize themselves and laugh. That is the best case.

How do I get him to change?

You do not. You change what you bring into the interaction. He decides what he does with that. Every tip on this site works on your half of the exchange.

Why English and German?

The guide started in both worlds. The German edition at /de/ is a full translation, “ein Handbuch für alte Männer”.
